Back in 1995, fresh from my pediatric residency at UT Memphis and Le Bonheur Children's, I began my medical journey at Sweetwater Hospital. Picture a young doctor juggling clinic visits, delivery room dashes, newborn cuddles, and committee meetings—all before noon. It was chaos, but it sparked something special.

In May 2007, Pediatric Choice was born—a small but mighty crew fueled by caffeine, compassion, and a belief that top-notch pediatric care doesn’t need hospital hallways. By 2014, we fully embraced outpatient care and hung up our hospital badges for good. (Running in three directions is only fun if you’re five.)

Today, Pediatric Choice thrives in Lenoir City, Jacksboro, and Dayton. We care for patients at every age and stage, and soon, we’ll be welcoming young adults—because growing up shouldn’t mean outgrowing great care. Also, we’re terrible at goodbyes.

After 30 years in this corner of Tennessee, it’s been a joy caring for three generations of families. A third of our patients are now generational, which technically makes me a pediatrician-slash-family folklorist. And yes, it’s a bit cliché, but we truly love what we do. Caring for kids is a calling, a joy, and sometimes… a wild guessing game involving diapers.
